About Bet Bet

Bnai Bayit ("Bet Bet" for short) was founded to welcome Israelis studying in North America for advanced degrees into our homes and communities. Hosts offer our Israeli visitors a true sense of family, friendship, and a home away from home.

"Bnai Bayit" is a Hebrew expression that signifies people who are "like one of the family," "a close friend," or "a member of the household."

Every interested Israeli graduate student is matched with a local Jewish host family for the academic year. Opening our homes and hearts to these young Israelis is the right thing to do. Such person-to-person relationships are not only rewarding and fun but also a vital component of building stronger connections between the world's two largest Jewish communities.

Bnai Bayit was established in 2016 in New York City out of the inaugural Wexner Summit Initiative - Stronger Together - (Re)Imagining the North American Israel Relationship.
